The worst movie of my life .

Really engaging film.

I would like to remind the people giving it one star reviews or saying that some of the events or relationships are "predictable" that it's based on a true story and I'm told they stayed true to the basic events.

Boring and an over exaggerated plot.

Besides the overt prostelytizing during every minute of the movie, the acting and the script were boring!

Pointless .

Boring.

Still, a film worth watching at home or in youth group, Breakthrough's quality is best left at the comfort of your own home rather than the theater.

They used every washed up Christian cliche known to man-young hip pastor, buttoned up mom that likes things more "traditional", the unbelieving atheist who hears God and now can no longer deny his existence.

I'll just give one example - and I think that will explain it: When John is in the hospital, and we are all supposed to pray for him to survive, his church family gathers outside to sing a rousing praise song.

Save your money.

I got dragged to see this by my friend.

Other than that, this is a great film, with good drama and emotional moments, appropriate and enjoyable for the whole family.

I found the acting of Chrissy Metz and Topher Grace to be phenomenal and engaging.

So don't waste your time.

This film can make a grown man cry, my daughter loved it, my wife enjoyed it.

The mother's extreme weight was unnecessary and confusing.

100% Worth Watching!.

It's comical how bland and unoriginal this movie was.

Engaging story and acting .

Kept us on the edge of our seats.

Someone on another review site said they found the relationship change between the pastor and the mom obvious and predictable - again, this is apparently how it happened to the actual people those characters are based on.

Every scene with her caterwauling made the movie near unbearable to sit through.
