One-line Reviews (86)

Formulaic, perhaps.

The romance between Moore and Goode is great, the story is very predictable, the music is OK I guess and the film itself was WAY better than First Daughter which I said before.

Mandy Moor is a decent actress but here she's completely dull.

The locations the director chose are stunning- mainly Prague and Venice.

Simple, but Entertaining .

Teenage girls are the target audience, but the film was entertaining to this thirty-something, as well.

It's a waste of time.

Enjoyable comedy & beautiful landscapes .

Worth watching and even buying, for times when you're not in mood for heavy drama!

It's not great, but it's good enough for an enjoyable Friday night movie.

Gondola ridings ,train rides and instant kissings are somehow superfluous and unnecessary and often boring and the movie's not having any gotcha moments degrades it's quality .

Second, the story line was pathetically contrived.

Mark Harmon, as the President, gives his usual wooden performance, which is the worst part of this otherwise entertaining film, worth an hour and a half of your time on a very slow day.

overall: the actors are decent, but this is still bland, unfunny, and lame.

How utterly predictable.

Sure, the storyline was rather simplistic and predictable, but as far as being entertaining, this film definitely was.

I caught this movie on HBO about two years ago and I enjoyed it pretty much mainly because of Mandy Moore's unique on-screen charisma and her beauty.

And of course darn predictable.

But the events of the movie are really entertaining and also suggest a message for those girls who are chasing their liberty or whatever.

You have a cute guy and a cute girl running around Europe getting in and out of one enjoyable fix after another.

All this, plus many other positive aspects, leads me to believe that despite the less than shining reviews it has gotten, this is still the perfect feel-good and completely romantic chick flick I've seen in awhile and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for something fun and easy to watch.

But, bitterness aside, in short the film is one giant pointless romp that runs from one "romantic" episode to the next without any reason whatsoever.

The situations in the movie are quite contrived and makes you feel as if you are watching a bollywood movie.

I saw this film a couple years ago in the theater and enjoyed it.

0/10 Worst Movie Ever .

Mark Harmon plays her father and he gives a bland performance.

predictable, unconvincing, and not very well acted out, sort of a stay in your own backyard lesson.

The story, while a little predictable, still held enough surprises to make it fun, funny, and sweet.

Combined with a bubblegum soundtrack only makes one realize what a waste of time the whole ordeal's been.

The signs are A) formulaic plot, B) the humor revolves around males acting quirky to appeal to female sensibilities, c) the story is out of Harlequin Romance Novel writing 101, and D) the film lacks soul.

Bland, generic teen romance .

Matthew Goode in his breakout performance is far more charming, showing off a relaxed, witty presence that make his character well worth watching (and if his performance isn't enough, his looks should be!

The ending was as predictable as the movie was lackluster.

All in all, it's a cute and entertaining film and at times is outright funny.

And it was about as predictable a film as I've seen.

Mandy Moore is perfectly likable if somewhat a little bland.

Predictable?

Also, the story has enough elements to be considered as entertaining and funny.

entertaining "brain fluff" chicky flick .

Director Andy Cadiff moves things at a really slow pace and he will put the audience to sleep fast.

Boring and predictable with an unbelievable premise and a lead female character so selfish and spoiled I wanted to smack her.

It was entertaining and fun, and I highly recommend it.

Jeremy Piven and Annabella Sciorra play Anna's bodyguards who have to chase Anna around Europe, and oddly enough, their scenes and interactions with each other are way more entertaining and interesting than what's going on with Anna and Ben.

Quite Enjoyable Romantic Comedy .

There are some enjoyable subplots with the second set of agents and the travelling Brit.

My only complaints are that the movie dragged a bit long for this type of movie...

Because we are boring to look serious movie all the time, we need something that can relax us like this film.

It is predictable, there is no chemistry between the lead actors and the acting is just simply terrible and unbelievable.

There are glimpses of possibilities here, but they are wasted with the usual predictable twists and turns.

Predictable teen movie with an unlikable lead .

While a very enjoyable movie, you find yourself almost distracted by the overwhelming urge to root for the pests aka agents to loss the trail and more for Ms. Moore to get away.

But I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

I'll admit that he's better than your typical teenage movie pretty boy, but what's up with his perpetual expression of confusion?

The story is predictable and bland with only the subplot bits adding adult interest.

I also really enjoyed the story line of the two secret service agents who are trying to find Anna- Weiss and Morales- in many ways their romance is even more enjoyable storyline than that of the main characters.

W Bush is a boring redneck who has no funny stories to share with the audience/readers?

I found the movie to be entertaining in the same vein as Clueless or Ten Things I Hate About You.

FINAL VERDICT: As a teen film, it was OK, at least mildly entertaining.

Likable if somewhat a little bland .

Surprisingly entertaining teenage romantic comedy .

Coming of Age in First Family-Chasing Liberty ***1/2 .

The story here is nice, even if it sounds classical sometimes, it's funny and entertaining...

Yes, that was always so, even with Audrey Hepburn - and her name is almost mandatory when writing review of this :-)Indeed, there was lot of cliche in this.

The European scenery, alone, is worth the watch.

I enjoyed it a lot.

The whole film was just very dull and pointless.

An Enjoyable Romance .

It was a sweet movie, exactly what you'd expect it to be, but entertaining for a couple of hours.

Not surprisingly, this is a pretty predictable movie.

But it does remind me of those classic old black and whites with their very formulaic stories that make you feel that all is right with the world (at least the world of the film).

Good music, especially Who Needs by Jason Mraz and good locales make the movie worth watching.

It was a cute and kind of empty movie.

Entertaining teen flick about the daughter of the President of the USA.

This movie is one big test-market-tuned cliché.

took way too long) I thought some parts were adorable, and very well acted.

Mandy Moore was stunning, as were her co-stars in particular Jeremy Piven, and Annabella Sciorra as the secret service agents assigned to her.

The dialogue is snappy, romantic, emotive, its perfect.

Brainless, but cute and entertaining .

The movie overall is more entertaining than the IMDb rating would indicate.

This is a lighthearted, enjoyable comedy.

ho hum .

Matthew Goode who is ordered to spy on Anna is stunning in this film, I can see his future in acting being a good one.

The whole thing is pretty generic and predictable.

Another stunning performance by Moore .

bland and unfunny .

THE GIST:This is a Romantic Comedy that contains a predictable romance plot and is only occasionally funny.
