Complete and utter garbage movie don't waste your time .

His raps will make you laugh and it's an entertaining film to enjoy.

I guess I fell asleep on the funny parts because so far their respective none!

Enjoyable and Entertaining Celebration of Diversity in Filmmaking .

It was kinda like watching "The Green Mile", which was equally as boring as this one, only this one tries to be funny also.

A lot of screen time is dedicated to jokes that I don't really get, so the first half of the film is quite boring for me.

This has to one of the funniest films I've seen this year, Eddie Murphy gives a inspiring performance as Rudy Ray Moore, he brings a certain dignity to playing a man who is just trying to be exceptional and eventually becomes a successful media star, and a Legend in the Hip Hop world years later, the supporting cast of actors also made the movie entertaining as well, the set pieces, costumes and music made me nostalgic , because I was a teenager and rushed to the theater to watch a lot of Black films of that era, the Director did a good job of bringing this project together, I am sure Rudy Ray Moore would have been proud of the way this movie turned out, Netflix gives us a good one this time.

Just a waste of time.

I highly recommend it to everyone to see.

This shortcoming is especially telling next the totally fabulous performance of unrecognizable Wesley Snipes as the pompous yet bored, eternally tipsy, and scene stealing director co-star D'Urville Martin.

And again, this is the magic word 'entertaining' and that's why it deserves a 8/10 rating.

Eddie Murphy stars as Rudy Ray Moore, and though it's not necessary, having some knowledge of the career of the real Mr. Moore will likely enhance your viewing experience during this exceedingly entertaining, and sometimes riotous biopic.

I do think this is a film everyone can enjoy, but I'll be bias and claim my brother, cousin, and I enjoyed it just a little more than most that haven't heard of this man before.

To put the cherry on top Eddie Murphy's performance was awesome and even though its not the best I've seen this year, it was probably the most entertaining movie.

In the end, Dolemite is My Name is not a perfect film, but like the film being made in it, it is quite an entertaining and fun ride.

With ups and downs throughout his career, this true story lends itself to a very formulaic movie as a whole.

Celebrating his success Moore takes out his friends and watches an old film called The Front Page and sees how audiences reacted to what he thought was a boring film.

Eddie Murphy is so painfully dull protraying Dolemite it's such a shame.

It is an inspirational, touching, hilarious, and compelling portrait of an intriguing person.

Very funny and entertaining biopic .

Not having read a review or looked at the trailer, it was a complete leap of faith on a winters night, but I was soon warmed and immersed in the genius that is Eddie Murphy.

Eddie Murphy's performance is absolutely stunning.

It's a feel good and thoroughly engaging film.

Outstanding production and design, great directing, awesome writing - pacing a little slow though, excellent cinematography, soundtrack and score on point and all cast members were perfection!

Decently entertaining .

The movie is predictable at every turn, the acting is average (except for Murphy who's trying his heart out), the direction and production design wasn't impressive really, it just got the job done.

This is a very fun and enjoyable movie about an interesting person.

The story is a compelling rags to riches tale that makes you laugh along all the way.

One of the best casts assembled this year have an obvious blast together and take us along for the ride in "Dolemite Is My Name," a deliriously entertaining African American answer to "The Disaster Artist.

That said the film is extremely entertaining.

Even the sound track was great and made watching the movie more entertaining and inspiring!

Eddie Murphy is absorbing and as charismatic as always.

This movie was good energy, positivity and entertaining.

However, Murphy is also enough to take the chance and yep, I found a good (based on true events) story executed with skill and entertaining interest.

The story compelling.

An All-Round Enjoyable Experience .

This was a very entertaining film history experience.

Even decades later, it's one of the most genuinely entertaining movies ever made, without ever being in the same ballpark as competent.

A great Eddie Murphy for an highly enjoyable story .

Murphy brought Moore to life seamlessly, and with a rather entertaining take.

As well as this it does have its lulls and could be slow at times all.

Also it has a tremendously evocative score that underpins the entire film.

Really enjoyable film.

Front and centre to most of the film, Murphy is arguably the best his ever been as Moore and while the film doesn't exactly break new ground in the way in which it transpires, Dolemite's faithful recreation of the time period filled with colourful costumes, lovingly created sets and a killer soundtrack make the story of Moore's rise up the ranks an endlessly enjoyable experience.

Adding credence to the debate is the fact that this urban Shakespeare's films were rife with it in the 70s making Dolemite is my Name an entertaining historical event.

IN BRIEF: Lewd, crude and funny, with a comeback performance by Eddie Murphy that is highly entertaining.

I knew just enough to maximize my enjoyment of this biopic: A) I knew that I liked him, and B) his story arc was still enough of a mystery to keep the plot engaging.

this movie was a waste of time hopefully as long as I draw breath will never have to watch it again.

Dolemite is My Name was just an all-round enjoyable experience.

The movie takes a while to find its groove but when it does, there is much to admire, especially in its visual look and engaging cast.

To see these costumes up close was breathtaking.

The drama engaging.

Entertaining from start to finish and wonderful performances make "Dolemite" one of the year's best - 8/10 ⭐ .

It tells the story of a very persistent man, which is always compelling to watch.

Dolemite is My Name can be called the same, but it is also "funny, inventive, and very entertaining".

Based on the true story of Rudy Ray Moore, Dolemite Is My Name pays a wonderful homage to both the time period and era of films in which Moore resided while also providing a wonderfully entertaining story from start to finish.

Edie's performance is top notch and the plot is really engaging.

Instead, I just felt awkward and embarrassed by this pathetic story, and Eddie Murphy's acting in this movie is just over-the-top awkward and exaggeratedly pretentious.

It went from dull to duller, I dont know what was funny about Dolemite or the silly rhymes.

An awesome way to describe the process of creating a motion picture and on top of that, the craziest and most entertaining performancee of the year, no doubt, Eddie Murphy.

I was dragged to the theater by my Dolemite-loving boyfriend and expected to be totally bored.

The mix of aiming for the tops with being at the bottom is precision set in this most enjoyable film.

Maybe its poorly cinematic made but sure its funny and entertaining and it has the massage , strong comeback for eddie murphy

Now I have to decide whether or not I actually want to watch the 1975 "Dolemite," or whether the making of the movie is more entertaining than the movie itself.

The movie has a good cast and good movie but it´s pretty slow, unlike most of Murphy´s films.

A very enjoyable movie .

Deliriously Entertaining .

Raw, rude and raucously entertaining story of Rudy Ray Moore/Dolemite .

Production design, art and costume design as well as hairstyling its superb and keep the movie so fresh and original, it really keepd me looping even tho i found the script so pretentious.

An otherwise formulaic biopic that's saved by the comedy.

It's been a while since I've seen an Eddie Murphy film, and this story fits his engaging enthusiastic personality.

Entertaining .

A fabulous performance in an excellent and entertaining movie about a legend who is virtually unknown in the UK.

Helping out Brewer and Murphy with this quality experience are some fantastic supporting additions to the film's loaded cast, that while filled with notable additions like Keegan-Michael Key, Mike Epps, Craig Robinson and Snoop Dogg is bought to life by some downright brilliant supporting turns from Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Moore's protégé Lady Reed and a scene stealing Wesley Snipes as the pretentious Hollywood actor/director D'Urville, who much like Murphy revives a seemingly stagnated career in this film.

Directed by Craig Brewer, the film paints an intriguing portrait of the real-life figure who decided to script his own legacy all by himself, and never for once loses sight of his humanity while depicting his rise to fame & stardom.

For me, the movie felt a little slow and even too long at times.

"Dolemite Is My Name" is an enjoyable movie that show the 70s black culture, and I liked the fact that for once writers did not talk about racism: creators focused on the main character as it should be, and did not use this movie for the usual propaganda.

A very entertaining and well acted biopic about a common man who found his luck and became the inspiration for many artists in future generations.

Enjoyed it thanks to Eddie and the amazing cast.

This is a very, very good, funny, and engaging biopic that I feel a lot of people will get a kick out of.

don't waste your time

Unbearable to sit through this movie , it gave me much pain.

The movie is little boring in many time ,,eddie murphy is what make me watch this ,,nudity secene was disgusting and they can cut it ,,it was unnessecary ,,without eddie murphy iwill give this under 4

It was fascinating to see Rudy's pursuit of the American Dream.

With entertaining performance by the old and new cast members.

This film is at times foul and other times touching and it deserves your attention throughout as it revels in the joys of telling a story deserving to be told and to be relished and enjoyed by anyone searching for an escape from the mundane or cynical stories prevalent in movies of today.

The script can seem a bit on the nose at times, but it's all in good fun, and provides mostly for an enjoyable and entertaining based-on-a-real-story experience.

I enjoyed it.

It was thoroughly entertaining and great to see Eddie being Eddie.

Entertaining, relatable and void of wokeness .

Well worth watching and is a must see for blaxploitation film fans.

Murphy immersed himself in this role and it pays off on screen.

Very entertaining...

He's funny, relatable, engaging.

This movie surprised me, it was entertaining and funny.

My first problem when coming across this movie was that it felt really unauthentic, the dialogues are a so forced in there that I bearly Ever laughed, that being said the history is pretentious and the development of characters is so obvious and full of stereotypes that it end up upsetting me.

This movie was mildly entertaining; and it had a lot of potential.

However, the next two was extremely entertaining.

it's boring and not funny real dolamite is spinning in his grave.. DO NOT WATCH

It all comes together in the end and made the whole movie enjoyable and worthwhile.

It starts so well..then zzzz .

Movie starts out slow with a little comedy and nothing more.

Very funny situations make the movie enjoyable and easy to watch.

Saw this with two other film buffs at our local indie theater to get a jump on the Netflix release, and we all enjoyed it a whole lot.

I was so so happy of seeing Eddie Murphy at his best in a film so so funny and entertaining, that makes me want to have more.
