One-line Reviews (51)

It is by no means perfect, but I was moved and genuinely enjoyed it.

And the ending a bit predictable and trite...

So as a movie deeply empty and frustrating, hence all the one stars.

Add this to the worst movie I have ever seen

The screenplay is very slow and could lead with audiences getting bored.

Movies like this, though well acted by both actors had a plot that died and left the normal viewer empty, 'What', 'where is the ending', or as someone stupidly said, 'I wish there were more intelligent viewers, who understood the deeper meaning, so they could give a better rating'.

I've seen way worse and endured way more boredom in films that are considered way better.

Every time the film returned to this part, it became fascinating.

But, come on: if you are going to have actors with accents, have them talk slower and not into their chests.

Very dull & repeated stereotyping.

I felt it was utterly a waste of time with unrealistic conversations that felt misplaced.

It tells a beautiful story about love, loss, and hope; and if you're a James or Alicia fan it is definitely worth watching.

The movie looked more like a propaganda film paid for by the CIA/NSA - the type of film you see coming out of Hollywood.

The movie is like a borefest & I think the plot is more suited for a novel & they shouldn't have adapted it.

Beautiful scenery but really boring .

Drawn out .

Boring.

Absolutely beautiful movie, the chemistry between Dani and James is intense and transcends the screen.

Still, there was a haunting texture to the film that made it compelling to continue watching.

Very Boring .

The story just is slow, boring and dull and the 2 story lines do not hold it together which is unfortunate as it is beautiful to watch.. almost like a music video/documentary that yearns for a deeper story to make it come together.

Apart from those irritations we have an Utterly tedious story with nothing of interest at all; the love story is a joke as there is zero chemistry between the two actors - casting director should leave the business!

Wouldn't recommend this movie to melancholic people, it's slow and disturbing.

" From the stunning ocean cliffs of Normandy to the rugged, sandy beaches of Somalia, the film wanted to be adventuresome and daring.

And not only because of his good looks but also because of his engaging and charming behavior.

Overly long story, drawn out,not too much to show for the effort.

The movie deserved a perfect ending as the ending of the movie was confusing.

I understand why people would see it as boring, it has philosophy in it, a depth that not everybody can reach.

It bores a bit and makes it longSee another one of your filmography, if you like

-the MUSIC -it's beautiful to look at James's story I felt to be very interesting and compelling.

Submergence is a delicate, melancholic yet thrilling modern poem about love set in our imperfect and violent world.

Two utterly boring characters .

Well if you were expecting a boring romance movie among candles then you're in the wrong place!

I fell asleep 3 times.

Some of the framing was awkward, again evocative of TV movies.

Too predictable scenarios & acting for both parties - the guy & the female.

The too separate stories were too long and boring, I just waited and waited for the ending and to get to know HOW it would end.

Don't worry, the next disjointed time and space jump will explain more than you want to know.

Overall, the story is really boring.

Some last words on the beautiful cinematography with stunning landscapes wonderfully completed by a haunting soundtrack that makes this movie worth going to see in cinema even if the theme wouldn't appeal to you !

I found this film enjoyable from several perspectives.

Pretentious and Disjointed Art Film .

But I got bored in half of it.

This film is slow, beautiful, emotionally subtle, full of (old.

The film was boring.

Unfortunately, it was a crashing bore!

Story is slow and dull and love story falls apart - great shots and music.

A shameful ending of a half-baked love story; lukewarm and pointless.

The cinematography was absolutely stunning with scenes rarely seen in other movies.

Enjoyable scenery, conversation, quite slow, not for the impatient.

The pretentious nature of the film was apparent in such high-brow scientific terms as hadopalagic (deriving from the Greek term for the underworld, Hades) that were intended to hook audiences with an otherworldly experience at the bottom of the Atlantic.
