The storyline was just too bland and unimaginative, and the entire character gallery was just rubbish.

there is pretty much no plot.

Even with the heavy handed morality tale, this was still a fun, enjoyable movie.

The most pandering, in your face message paired with bad voice acting, terrible songs and the most visually uninteresting animation I've seen in a while.

Animation was the only redeeming point because the music and story were completely boring and humorless.

Some of the characters were also pointless.

All in all it's a mostly pointless experience and a waste of 2 hours.

The themes are obviously good for young children, and there are one or two funny jokes, but it's simply not worth it for a frequently unfunny, bland experience.

I also really enjoyed it and combine that with the joy of watching my beautiful daughter have fun watching it and I'm going to bump up my rating.

There is no style, period, just this poor, bland, plain gruel cinematic experience that will eat up an hour and a half of your time and leave no lasting impact on anyone.

From time to time, it's colorful, fuzzy and exciting.

It's as basic, rote, predictable and cliche as they come, not to mention they steal vague plot points from better films, like the Toy Story series, Monsters University or The Lego Movie.

The story itself is ok, and could make for a good movie, but unfortunately the movie is amazingly lackluster in every sense of the world and on every field: the songs are mostly dull and unmemorable (though some are better then others).

Yet, in removing the threats the plot became a little too boring as the adventure just devolved into sort of an elementary school education lesson.

From the description, and given today's "social" climate, I was expecting some liberal propaganda.

Bland and forgettable .

A boring and wasting time to watch animation film!

6 and 8 year old were ready to leave 30 mins in.

Also, the plot twist relating to him at the end was pointless.

I'm not sure why people are giving it a bad review because it's a "rip off of trolls" (which I don't agree with at all), but what's wrong with making a lot of movies for kids that are entertaining & have a wonderful message?

Waste of money .

My girls also loved the movies, 5 and 7, both enjoyed it!

Fortunately, the box office flop of this tiresome nonsense might finally give movie studios the message that we want daring, ORIGINAL concepts, instead of politically correct junk full of forgettable songs and bland characters.

The visuals suck because the environments are bland & the character designs are horribly ugly.

But it's a cute movie and my kids enjoyed it.

This is the stupid movie I ever seen first of all its kinda sad second its a waste of your time and money.

But yeah, Ugly Dolls is a cute movie that's worth watching if you're in the mood for a cute uplifting kids movie with lots of songs.

I really wanted to enjoy this film given the all-star cast and message it portrayed to kids, but it was just boring and predictable...

Generic and boring .

Aimed at girls because our boys were bored.

this is, no joke, the worst movie i've ever seen.

Probably one of the worst movies I watched

Another predictable animation with bright lights.

I can even say me as a adult really enjoyed it as it teaches us to embrace being different.

This movie is weird and boring.

Good theme but boring if you're over 7yrs old .

One word: bad Worst movie of the century award gos to ugly dolls

Even with the heavy handed morality tale, this was still a fun, enjoyable movie.

It seems to be a fascinating place and a much more fun place to explore than the Institute of Perfection.

Boring/Stupid .

The story, music and characters are a bore-fest.

The story is boring and predictable.

From the description, and given today's "social" climate, I was expecting some socialist, left-wing propaganda.

During the (slightly excessive) musical sequences, the backgrounds are typically black, with frequent white flashes and repetitive assets.

But nice animation and the funny characters make it an entertaining 90 minutes.

I have seen this movie and I enjoyed it very much.

What a snore.

Horrid, Hollow, and Boring .

Boring from beginning to end.

Cute and engaging .

One of the Uglydolls Moxy (played by Kelly Clarkson) is excited every day that she'll get selected to finally leave for the big world where a child can love her, but nothing happens.

I enjoyed it also!

The songs sound like something done before, the characters don't develop except for some bad people who turn good, the message is too simplified, the story is boring.

Does this make it pointless?

At best, it'll be entertaining for them.

My 5 year old enjoyed it.

The story was entertaining, I loved the characters, and I loved the songs.

They were so boring that I had to frequently fast-forward because I couldn't stand it.

It was one of the most boring, weird and and just plain stupid movies i have seen in a long while.

For me, this lack of care (or budget) for visuals is what hurt this movie the most, making the world unappealing and dull.

It's a nice message, but it's such a boring delivery that the whole movie comes off as a waste of time.

The animation quality is good but has a really bland feeling to it.

The colorful, mega happy thing is cliche and boring.
