One-line Reviews (55)

At times confusing.

Communist propaganda full of absurd lies .

Olivier Assayas' 'Wasp Network' had the opportunity for substantial dramatic material with its fascinating based-on-a-true-story plot and a star-studded cast.

Communist Propaganda .

Very boring.

Exciting Story, A-List Actors.

As a pilot, Rene becomes embroiled in darker elements of the Cuban-American dynamic, and there's a fascinating subplot about the morally gray areas of revolution.

A good cast of characters somewhat makes up for an inconsistent and hard to follow movie.

Olivier Assayas is a French director so full of himself and his own ego that keeps making self-indulgent and boring movies, that are huge failures both financially and artistically.

It's pretty boring predictable stuff.

This is a piece of subversive ideological propaganda aiming at discrediting the community of Cuban exiles in Miami.

Assayas has too much to cover, but what he does, when you factor out the excessive time given to domestic challenges and even a wedding, is fascinating to see how much these spies have given up for Cuba.

A muddled and confusing mess .

Style The style of the film is very bland, it feels very low budget in the way it is filmed and there is nothing about it that stands out.

An interesting and intriguing story overall, that will speak to some more than to others.

The narrative at times is puzzling since the story can go slow at times and at others it sells a voiceover and quickly advances the sequence.

Planes flying and avoiding customs may be intense for the pilot but it is hardy what I'd call action scenes, and this movie comes across as mostly boring.

Boring .

The cinematography is simply stunning...

It is worth watching .

Given the intriguing story and really good cast behind this, it ought to have been good.

Too long, messy, and full of boring conversation!

Disgusting film, trashy communist propaganda .

It is excellent, entertaining, with decent acting and historically -reasonably accurate.

Simply a disaster as a production, propaganda of the Cuban dictatorship and offensive with the pain of millions of Cubans.

it is nice for me, but it could be confusing.

It felt disjointed at times.

Entire film quite messy, and full of boring conversation!

2 hours extremly thrilling.

If you're a teen, you'll get to see what's-her-name's top half, but it's unlikely you'll stay awake long enough.

Don't waste your time with Communism .

Propaganda .

A dirty lowdown cheap US propaganda flick.. .

Slow tempo, and the story is not making any sence.

Fascinating spy story with twists .

This film is absolute propaganda and still does not change the truth and the film attempts to justify the murder of innocent civilians by the Cuban military.

Entertaining .

As many spy movies based in real life thIs movie is a little bit confusing.

Don't waste your money on this made for TV film (not even a B movie).

So, the movie is entertaining for sure.

The movie is bad because it´s BORING and it doesn´t care about what it´s telling.

Waste of time

Very bad propaganda for Cuba!!!!.

The overuse of the blackout scene, also make the film unwatchable!

Unfortunately, the story is so jam-packed with various narratives and characters it becomes convoluted, confusing, and tiring to watch.

Script and good casting made this an enjoyable movie to watch, clever twists interjected at the right point to clear the story along with interesting historical facts not many would be aware of such as terror bomb attacks on Cuban hotels, foiledmass killing plots , something you could imagine from ISIS not Cuban exiles.

Don't watch it, this was one of the worst movies i've ever seen.

The narrative was confusing at times and certain stories seemed to be forgotten or abandoned half way through

Overall Overall, a film that wastes its potential and delivers a really boring film that if it didn't have some good actors in it wouldn't be worth a thing, this film isn't worth a watch and one that should be avoided.

It's a boring, long, waste of 2hrs.

This is one of the worst movies I´ve seen.

Don't waste your time watching this...

An automatic corrector keeps modifying my original text, creating a real nonsense; hence the following modification, withnhopes that it will appear unaltered:The film proceeds in a deliberately disjointed manner, slowly revealing the human aspects as well as complex ramifications in the Cuban diaspora in Miami, as revealed through two women for long held in ignorance, and especially through the character interpreted by Penelope Cruz, remarkable in her constrained sensitivity.
