Don't watch this filmic failure, unless you are really, really, really bored.

Worst movie idea of the decade.

Despite countless references to vampire traits and conduct, there aren't any vampires in the entire movie, only fatuously dull zombies squandering around during the night.

Don't waste your time with this.

One of it's better features here is the fact that there's some inventive reworking of the vampire mythos which gives this some solid and enjoyable work for its premise.

It's a fun goofy bloody mixture of martial arts zombies vampires will the military kill the good guys fast paced time waster.

Watching him doing anything else is just as exciting as watching a blade of grass grow, and that's essentially the kind of excitement this movie contains, only this one features a zombie-hunter with a katana, yes that's right, zombies, because that's all this movie is, ripped off a zombie-apocalypse genre that should have ended with the all-time beloved classic "Night of the living dead".

The one location setting is always a cool idea & the legendary "John Carpenter" has made that iconic in his movies & here it's used to excellent & suspenseful effect, as is the music & dark gloomy look!!.

The worst movie ever .

Armed with a shotgun and kitana sword, Seagal(name Tao in the movie), along with three others(Tanoai Reed, playing Tagart gets lots of action) get plenty of vermin to massacre while the rest of the cast just try to escape and withstand an onslaught of vampires popping up time and again as they move down darkened corridors and through dreary rooms, never knowing what lies in wait.

All you get to see of this "action hero" is a few glimpses of an old fatty with a sword, hell, he doesn't even seem to know how to utilize his precious weapon, resulting in some insanely uninteresting fight scenes featuring an old man standing around while his accomplishes get the job done in the most tedious manner, contrasting the inherent awesomeness of their weapons.

Now that the hunters join in to offer some protection and give them more of a chance during the fights, these are much more professional in their battles with their quick slashing and gunplay featured in the morgue battle, the various rescues where they reunite the group once again as well as the various battles to get them out as they make their way towards the basement which is where the other great fun occurs during the parking lot as this one gets in some really thrilling brawls, some hand-to-hand fighting with the creatures and plenty of fine swarming and chasing which is so much fun compared alongside the frenzied race to get out before the air-strike.

Alongside the great vampire look and the fun gore, these here make this one enjoyable enough to deliver a solid, if still flawed entry.

There's no real plot, no character design, no nothing.

Against the Dark was basically without a plot, just several rather uninteresting players looking for a door out of the hospital, as I was looking for a door out of the theater.

The action sucked, and their was literally no plot.

Good, but no Aikido here, just sword waving, slow, monotone posture and no acting whatsoever.

Their acting was listless, the sets were dark and boring, and even the finish left me wondering.

This movie will probably go over in history as one of the worst movies ever created.

The premise feels like a sloppily dull mixture of ''Resident Evil", "Blade" and "28 Days Later".

Worst movie ever .

It's boring and unreal.

As in the words of other critics, this work is the best/worst movie of the year.

They meet a couple that has been living in the place for a long period but now, during the night and having less than an hour to stop the generator, they want to leave the building, otherwise they will be trapped inside.

There is no script, no character and no action.

Following a scene-setting opening that cuts costs with a quick voice-over monologue, the film has little to no real plot other than people stumbling around the hospital and running into zombies/vampires/mutants (it is never really established what the 'infected' are) only to fight them off or invariably be saved by Seagal and his leather-clad crew (little knowing that jets will explode all and sundry at dawn!

For the most part this one was a very enjoyable and entertaining entry.

The marginal Steven Seagal action thriller "Against the Dark" is as gruesome as it is ghoulish, but it is also wholly predictable pabulum.

This is mainly due to how short all the action scenes here are, which are just so quick that it doesn't really register with what's happening so the scenes with the daughter in the operating room, running away from the vampire who continually threatens them and finding their turned friend on the other side which is quite bland and really just seems over so quick that there's not a lot to like about them.

Plot is boring, action is nothing special...

The rest is just blood and gore, no combat choreography, no plot.

The look of "Against The Dark" is very dark, dim & grimy green & feels very much like an "Albert Pyun" film, the excellent Cult B-movie Director who has made some excellent films such as "Cyborg" & "Nemesis" & "Adrenaline: Fear The Rush" & "Omega Doom" as well as many other weird & wonderful gems, so yeah this little B-movie is actually a well made & entertaining survival Horror, it has a good creepy atmosphere & a one location setting (Hospital) so it kinda fits right into those old school Genre films of the 80's & 90's, this looks & feels like it was made in the 90's!!.

Two bland locations are used to portray a world over-run by vampire/mutants.

These here are the film's flaws, but it's enjoyable enough.

It's just dull.

I'm a big movie fan and a Steven seagal fan and can honestly say this is the worst movie I've seen in a long time, not ever, there are worse.

It started off VERY boring, showing these people walking through a hospital and the one guy who played the Stonner (I thought) did a terrible job of acting.

Except if you want to cure your insomnia.

Against the Dark has maybe one or two, mildly amusing sequences in an otherwise, flat out boring picture.

Instead we get ex-HOLBY CITY actors giving terrible performances complete with terrible American accents and the whole thing's a complete waste of time.
