What truly ruined the film was the complete lack of respect shown towards medical professionals, This is the worst movie of 2019 so far

A walking cliche, his poorly acted character comes across as mainly creepy and invasive.

And, yes, while the film is very heavy-handed with the religious propaganda, it's understandable given the film's circumstances.

Surprisingly touching and intense!

Engaging story and acting .

Partially true but felt like a propaganda piece for the church especially when you read into the actual truth.

The whole meaning behind the movie and the true events that happened is worth watching.

The mother's extreme weight was unnecessary and confusing.

Worth watching if you have a faith based life.

The worst movie of my life .

I would particularly cite the works of Jefferson Moore, most of which are enjoyable and thought provoking on several levels.

It was maybe a 6 or a little more but I gave it a 5 for the propaganda of religion.

I would like to remind the people giving it one star reviews or saying that some of the events or relationships are "predictable" that it's based on a true story and I'm told they stayed true to the basic events.

I'll just give one example - and I think that will explain it: When John is in the hospital, and we are all supposed to pray for him to survive, his church family gathers outside to sing a rousing praise song.

A strong cast brings what some might call a predictable story to vivid life.

Yes, it's faith based, but the supernatural can be very entertaining at times.

Beside those moments it was extremely boring with bad-timed jokes and lack acting.

Really engaging film.

Unbearable drivel...

Kept us on the edge of our seats.

So don't waste your time.

Mike Couture (famous as Luke Cage) feels authentic as an atheist with an unexpected encounter with a divine moment and can't get the moment out of his head.

My wife is the one who campaigned for it and the whole family enjoyed it.

Every scene with her caterwauling made the movie near unbearable to sit through.

It was enjoyable, even as someone who is irreligious, to see it brought to life.

I found the acting of Chrissy Metz and Topher Grace to be phenomenal and engaging.

Why are Christian movies so overbloated and contrived when the religion itself is very brutal?

Other then that, the actors preformence are very below average, and ilthe whole movie is very predictable.

The acting and adaptation of the true story is competent, though the script is so narrow and repetitive that it often feels like it only has one thing to say.

Someone on another review site said they found the relationship change between the pastor and the mom obvious and predictable - again, this is apparently how it happened to the actual people those characters are based on.

Boring and an over exaggerated plot.

Basically, anyone who has a role to play in the film doing something mundane and super cliche'.

A true story worth watching .

Give it a try Im reading reviews about it being "religious propaganda"....

Still, a film worth watching at home or in youth group, Breakthrough's quality is best left at the comfort of your own home rather than the theater.

I think it's absurd for other reviewers to complain about it being predictable since it's a true story (even down to the pastor's shirt).

Its an engrossing well made terrific top quality Sunday afternoon movie that is just amazing.

The whole movie is a waste of money.

This film can make a grown man cry, my daughter loved it, my wife enjoyed it.

100% Worth Watching!.

I recommend the movie because it is very exciting.

Save your money.

Boring.

Highly recommend it a must watch!!

Really enjoyed it.

Truly a very emotionally gripping story led by a truly outstanding performance by Chrissy Metz.

The intense coldness of freezing water slows organ function and allows for prolonged survival without oxygen.

Really enjoyed it.

Other than that, this is a great film, with good drama and emotional moments, appropriate and enjoyable for the whole family.

Breakthrough is not poorly made, but is so lacking in nuance that it gets repetitive quickly .

I got dragged to see this by my friend.

Pointless .

Others, just stay away or go to a crowd pleasers comic-book action flick if you really want banality.

Also I thought the start was a little weak and bland.

This worth watching .

This is the kind of plot device that makes a compelling story unbelievable, and cheapens what could have been a decent movie.
