Still, it's fairly intriguing and certainly worth a look for fans of the three leads.

This is just a solid, well orchestrated thriller with a sense of grandiose purpose aided by the crisp cinematography and intense score, wrapped in a nice genre package, and above all, some truly surprising plot twists.

It's entertaining enough to cut my sleep to six hours.

And from that moment forth we have ourselves a nail-biting ride which'll keep you firmly on the edge of your seat until the very end.

To sum it up: It's a weak performance from Brosnan and the plot line is boring and linear.

Plodding out a scintillating finale .

I like an intense thriller with plot twist and this one fit the bill perfectly!

Really exciting movie with lots of turns and twists.

Where you might expect a really intense, gritty score, this one opts for a quieter one with a hint of bluesy undertones and it works.

Once in a while, a good, really suspenseful movie comes along and hits you in the balls with all it's got, and if it's really good, you might even want to see it again..and again.

This was a entertaining film keeps you in your toes the whole time.

I found this very suspenseful, even as others said though it not giving you a moment to think about - just like it did to the protagonists.

This exciting picture is packed with suspense, thrills, mystery, tension and extraordinary plot twists.

The definition of a suspenseful thriller.

I highly recommend it.

I remember a specific scene where there's a cartoon playing in the background and at the same time an effect used in intense scenes is playing.

However, it's translation to the big screen is literal and predictable.

There are a few small issues (and one big one at the end) but for the most part very entertaining.

The movie was very suspenseful.

The only positive thing about this movie are the leading men, who at least deliver the empty dialog with conviction and are as always easy on the eye.

And we masochistically watch the plot unfolding in more and more implausible ways, as the characters (read: plot-devices) propel it to its breathtakingly uninteresting, and actually insulting ending.

Add in indifferent direction and you have a rather bland and forgettable movie; nice to see THE X-FILES' Nicholas Lea in a supporting role, though.

This movie started slow, and picked up as soon as Pierce jumped into his first scene.

Unfortunately the filler in between the first couple of scenes and the story's culmination is yawn-inducing (the director's keeps losing the tempo of the movie) and at times far-fetched.

I was on the edge of my seat pretty much the whole time.

A waste of time, money and tears.

On the gripping hand, the twist is something most viewers will see coming a mile away.

A successful husband and his wife take a car trip (whilst the daughter stays at home), but is joined but an unexpected individuals who holds them at gunpoint and asks them to complete a series of tasks.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time watching this drivel.

The single biggest problem besides the shallow, imitative, factory-made story is the lack of plot development.

As for the rest of the cast, they were OK, even though perhaps slightly bland in their performances.

The film works, just about - I was just starting to get a bit bored with them being bounced about for no apparent reason when the film finally moved on.

"Butterfly on a Wheel" is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition in the race to be the most predictable, god-awful piece of crap in the history of storytelling.

No effects,no story,bad bad ending,awful acting.

Everything is at the same time both gripping and low-key and that isn't easy.

It was thrilling and in the end disturbing.

Thrilling, right?

Lots of holes but somehow entertaining .

Especially to the ones that label this cliché and others who turn it off after 30min -- are you kidding me!

This is a gripping thrill ride that constantly makes you think what YOU would do in this situation and question why it's happening.

However, the more that I watched it, the more entertaining it became.

Unfortunately, it's also a fairly predictable piece of film-making, content to act as a weak reimagining of THE GAME for the most part, with a little bit of DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE thrown in.

Too predictable .

"Butterfly on a Wheel" was a great surprise for me, with a tense story, tight and effective screenplay with unpredictable twists and stunning acting of Pierce Brosnan (he is awesome), Maria Bello and Gerard Butler.

Twist endings only work if they are unexpected and if there's a reasonable logic to it.

It all seems a bit to bland and glued on.

A friend of mine recommended this suspenseful thriller and I really enjoyed it.

It's rather boring, to the point where I stopped watching half-way in.

This must be one of the worst movies I have ever watched.

This movie pumped out some major amount of adrenaline off my glands.

Gripping, original action movie with the main actors desperately trying to find out the means avoid his daughter to be murdered.

The suspense just turns to irritation However this film is well worth watching if you want a no-nonce thriller that requires little thinking on your part and don't mind that half the movie takes place in a car due to the small budget.

This movie was terribly boring, predictable and served every possible cliché.

Gripping .

The movie starts slow (intentionally) and changes pace at one brief moment dramatically and that moment is really great to watch.

It is unpredictable because the film makers did not give us any sign on the scene, not even a clue, there is an affair between two people in this movie.

Ultimately the only thing this movie shatters, is the audience's hope of seeing an intelligent and entertaining movie.

Unfortunately, Gerard Butler and Maria Bello are pretty much stuck on the edge of hysteria throughout, bickering like children, and the plot (such as it is) has so little suspense that attention quickly turns from the victimized couple toward the many holes in the script (which are not covered up by the twist finish, scenes such as the ludicrous trip to the Chicago police station wherein a detective turns a man away because he thinks he's drunk).

Unwatchable.

Butterfly on a Wheel flaps its "thrilling" wings like a dull unglamorous moth.

Average and predictable.

After a half-hour of this it all starts becoming a little tiresome – and increasingly far-fetched.

Besides being boring and predictable, it lacks any significant meaning.

More hints about the ending would have made the ending more compelling.

They toy with your emotions, making it seem as if it's another cliché plot about money being the motive and another kidnapping of a child, with parents running around the city like chickens with their heads cut off not knowing what to do.

Nevertheless it is definitely worth watching, partially because of the high-quality music that lifts the movie.

This has to be one of the worst movies i have seen in many years.

Agonizing,, deeply sick and pointless.

In the hands of a more accomplished Director, this would have been pretty good, but the episodic construction clunks, and the final twist, whilst compelling again requires a giant leap of motivational faith.

It has marvelous actors playing colorful characters in a gripping storyline.

It is good to watch because the ending is unpredictable, and while I was hoping a fight between Butler and Brosnan (in fact they were fighting on the scene), all I seen is drama about two families.

It's taut, suspenseful, edge of your seat storytelling combined with good solid performances by all, especially Bello and Brosnan.

Rather Boring .

Good, if somewhat predictable .

Thrilling and suspenseful movie with a sensational Pierce Brosnan as relentless kidnapper .

Banal and sadistic .

There were twists and turns throughout, enjoyable taught and tense to the end.

It is an average suspense thriller which actually manages to keep a tinge of suspense till the end, though the plot is quite predictable.

"Butterfly on a Wheel" is an exciting movie that doesn't disappoint.

I guess the even multicultural board would laugh at the situation..other than that,it's a well produced , entertaining film and the message of the film is kinda good now days 6.5/10 worth a look

So to sum up, I'd say Shattered is both suspenseful and frustrating with good performances.

Terrible and boring "girl" thriller full of clichés .
